Melissa has been a tattoo artist since 2015, completing her apprenticeship in Regina, SK, at Full Circle Tattoos. In 2017, she moved back home to Thunder Bay, ON, building her local clientele at Creation. In 2018, Wright Ink & Artwork launched in a public setting in Regina, and as a private studio in Thunder Bay. As new artists joined her private studio over the years, a downtown Port Arthur shop, Metsä, was launched in 2022.

​In 2024, answering a call of soul searching, she left the busy life of travel and administrative shop work of two shops to return to a solo career. In 2025, Melissa was certified as an Art Therapy Practitioner. As stars aligned with an off grid opportunity, she found a new tattoo family at Black Pine Tattoo, where she can create, teach, and grow as a student within new realms.
